AI calorie counter: count calories from a photo
An AI calorie counter estimates the calories and macros in your meal from a photo or a short description, so you do not have to search long food lists. AI Calorie does this in seconds: you photograph or describe the meal, check the estimate and save it. It is free to start, with daily limits.

How does an AI calorie counter work?
You photograph your plate or describe it in words. An AI model identifies the foods, estimates portion sizes and returns calories, protein, carbs and fat. You review the result, adjust the portion if it looks off, and save it to your daily diary, which tracks your totals against your target.
- Photograph your plate, or type or dictate what you ate.
- Check the foods and portions the AI suggests, and adjust them.
- Save it and watch your daily calories and macros update.
What can AI Calorie log?
AI Calorie can log a meal from a photo, from a typed or dictated description, or from a scanned barcode on packaged food. Each entry shows calories, protein, carbs and fat. The free plan has daily limits on AI photo scans and text logs, and Pro raises them.
How accurate is an AI calorie counter?
No AI calorie counter is exact. Portion size, hidden oil or sugar and mixed dishes can move the real number, so treat each result as an estimate and review it before saving. We have not yet published our own accuracy tests, and we will not quote accuracy figures until we have measured them.

What is the best AI calorie counter app?
There is no single best app. Compare how each logs food, its daily limits or free trial, price, privacy and how clearly it shows that numbers are estimates. AI Calorie is one option, especially if you like logging by photo or description. We have written sourced, dated comparisons with two other apps.
